Landfill Postclosure Maintenance

Postclosure activities involve landscaping and ongoing maintenance of the Bailard, Coastal and Ozena disposal sites; irrigation and drainage ditch installation and maintenance; gas removal equipment installation; soil layer quality assurance; and certification. VRSD also provides groundwater monitoring for the Riverridge site.

Postclosure is funded by the sale of harvested methane gas to the local electric utility and through funds set aside during site operations.
